The Need for Online Biodiversity Newsletter…

One of the most important identified needs and priorities in the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan is Awareness creation and improvement of the ways and methods of such activities in the country. Ethiopia has made significant efforts in areas of Biodiversity conservation in the past Millennia. As a result a significant number of food, feed and forest crops were conserved in the main genebank as well as in field and community genebanks. Research and Educational institutions have also contributed their utmost effort in all activities of biodiversity conservation, and their effort is worth-mentioning. Hence, information on Agriculture, biodiversity and Environment has been generated in different institutions following those efforts. Accordingly, this Online Newsletter was intiated to make the information easily available to users such as universities and research institutions in the country.

Finally, we strongly believe your contribution in areas of Agriculture, Biodiversity, Environment, invasive species as well as relevant issues will make our newsletter informative. The newsletter will be published biannually online as well as selected issues will be published in hardcopies once in a year.

We Have a Dedicated Website for Newsletters and any Online IBC Publications on Relevant Biodiversity Issues. Before Attempting to Submit an Article of your own, please note carefully the following:

1. You must register on the Hompage of Biodiversity Newsletter (Just below the login field in the login box) to submit an article. A confirmation message will be sent to you via your e-mail address so that you can click the Link sent to you inorder to approve your membership. Please carefully note your username and password while registering. NB: the submit article menu will not appear unless you are a registered user.
2. After Logged in, click on Submit Article and Fill all blank fields in the article submission form. You can upload your personal photo from your desktop computer if you are interested your photo to appear with your article. You can copy and paste your article from MS Word, notepad, excel, etc…
3. Preview your article for further editing … if satisfied with the result click on Save
4. Do not hesitate to ask for further Help if any thing goes wrong! NB. your article will be added in Submitted articles List until it is approved by the Administrator.

There are two registration types: one for membership and the other one for submission of an article. Being a member, you will have access to our Daily Biodiversity News, publications including Biodiversity Newsletter, invitation to workshops, etc. Registering on the Biodiversity Newsletter site, you will have access to submiting articles for publication.
